Email marketing is one of the most popular and easiest ways to sell any type of products and services online. However, just like any other marketing tool, this also have own advantage and disadvantages. Weigh these first before you include this technique on your marketing campaign:

Pros:

1. It's cost-effective. You can actually use email marketing without shelling out a single dime for your advertising cost. That means, you can reach millions of people from across the globe for free!

2. It's hassle-free. Did I say it's one of the easiest ways to promote your products and services online? Well, it's because all you need to do is to create a compelling email ad and send it to your potential clients.

3. It's easy to track. Within a couple of hours of sending out your email advertisements, you can quickly tell the success of your campaign by simply determining your clickthrough rate or by counting the number of people who click the website that you have included in your email ad.

Cons:

1. It takes time to build a high quality email list. Harvesting the email addresses of your web visitor is the best way to build your opt-in list however, this can take years to achieve. As such, this can hinder the progress of an online enterprise.

2. Spam messages. With the volume of spam emails being sent on a daily basis, recipients are having a hard time determining which ones are legitima and which ones are not. This confusion usually leads to potential clients deleting the email ads that they receive without even reading them first.
